Hello girlies, anyone still reading this very dead blog? I am back from Vietnam and i had so much fun there i didn't want to come back. For those of you who didn't know, i went there on the 18th and came back on the 26th.

It was great getting to spend time with my Dad alone for so many days. He's stationed in Vietnam and i don't get to see him at home often, so thank God for this opportunity. I also had the chance to do pre-evangelism, finding out his stand, views and so on.

Do help me to keep him in prayer. I'm praying that he will come to accept the Lord as His personal saviour in the days to come. Also, his job is quite a dangerous one, on the oil rig in the middle of the South China Sea. Pray for the Lord's protection.

For those of you whose parents are not yet believers, continue praying for them and trusting in Him for their salvation (:

& it is then when i realised how big this issue is.

Christians said that all these evidence/prophecies may agree with the bible. 2012 or even before may be the start of the tribulation, which explains all the chaos in the coming situation.

Are all these information really the evidence of the upcoming tribulation or does it have nothing to do with God's word?

Hello Dearies, anyone still reading this blog? The blog is getting quite dead, not much updates and all. Do write a post or two when you are free, share your thoughts with us. If you have not read Xin Jie's testimony on how the Lord touched her during the Power Encounter, do scroll down and read and if possible, share your own testimony too.

Do not stop inviting your friends for Christmas. Do not be afraid that there isn't enough seats for your friends because Pastor will try to arrange for another lunch reception/buffet, probably at another hall.

Caroling is starting very very very soon. Invite your friends to join in, sing song, have. Remember to not wear anything too revealing, haha.

Since it's the holidays now, do make time to attend prayer meeting. You will learn a lot more and also attending prayer meeting helps us to grow in our prayer life. Pastor is giving training on Alpha now, so it will be good to attend and learn.

Be in church by 9.15 am to join in prayer. (something i'm trying to work on)

Dancers, well done (: Don't be shy, give your very best and always remember that God is the main audience, do this to glorify Him and not for self-glorification.

Prayer Triplet. Pray for our 3 friends daily, and also for the friends of those in our group.

Alpha is starting soon, and our group might have to seperate which is a good thing because that would mean that the group is too big (because you girls will be bringing your friends). I know that some of you girls might not be happy about the split. It's comforting to know that you all have build a strong bond with one another over these 2/3 years but remember that building the kingdom of God is more important. We can always have fellowship on Sunday or meet up on some other days. Continue keeping your friends in prayer.

Power Encounter

hello everyone! I'm here to post my experience at the 2days 1 night Power Encounter.
it was truly a wonderful experience for me.
before the encounter, i'm not sure why i felt such a strong urge to attend.
and i was so glad i did.
in the past, i had sometimes doubted God's love for me because of the situation i am in right now. but through this encounter, my thinking had changed.
it was the first time ever i felt the Holy Spirit's warm presence in our midst.
i had always stubbornly thought that i was strong enough to face all my problems alone,
and i need not receive help from anyone, both mortal and immortal.
but a few times during the past weekend i suddenly felt so helpless and weak that i broke down.
after that, i felt my heart lighten as if all my burdens have been removed.
it was once in a few times i really wanted to worship wholeheartedly and give my all.
i believe everyone around had that urge too.
on Sunday, i received the gift of tongues.
i never really prayed or wished for it,
but God gave it to me.
i am glad i did not go against my decision this time round.
because if i did, i would have missed out a lot.
now after the encounter,
i can feel something holding back my anger every time something or someone irritates me. and i promised myself that i will be kinder to everyone around me,
including those who had offended me.
i thank God for everything He had done and may He bless your life too! =D

A Few Lessons About TEAMWORK From the Geese!

Fact 1: Ass each goose flaps its wings, it creates an "uplift" for the birds that follow. By flying in a "V" formation, the whole flock adds 71% greater flying range than if each bird flew alone.
Lesson: Peopl who share a common direction and sense of community can get where they are going quicker and easier because they are traveling on the thrust of one another.

Fact 2: When a goose falls out of formation, it suddenly feels the drag and resistance of flying alone. It quickly moves back into formation to take advantage of the lifting power of the bird immediately in front of it.
Lesson: If we have as much sense as a goose we stay in formation with those headed where we want to go. We are willing to accept their help and give our help to others.

Fact 3: When the lead goose tires, it rotates back into formation and another goose flies to the point position.
Lesson: It pays to take turns doing the hard tasks and sharing leadership. As with geese, people are interdependent on each other's skills, capabilities and unique arrangements of gifts, talents, and resources.

Fact 4: The geese flying in formation honk to encourage those up front to keep going!
Lesson: We need to make sure our honking is encouraging. In groups where there is encouragement, the production is much greater. The power of encouragement, which is to listen to one's own heart or core values, and to listen to the core values of others, is the quality of honking we seek.

Fact 5: When a goose gets sick, wounded or shot down, two geese drop out of formation and follow it down to help protect it. They stay with it until it dies or is able to fly again. Then, they launch out with another formation of geese and try to catch up with the flock.
Lesson: If we have as much sense as geese, we will stand by each other in difficult times as well as wehn we are strong.

How can I help grow Ruth Tribe in the spirit of teamwork?
1) Stay in close fellowship with fellow believers. Open up and thrust one another.
2) Accept help from one another and help one another grow as sisters-in-christ.
3) Be initiative. Use the gifts God has given to us to serve God and one another.
4) Be a quality honker - Encourage one another.
5) Help one another through difficult times; share your problems/struggles so we can pray for each other.

Hello all,
Anyone still reading this dead blog?
If yes, don't just read, write too.

Anyway, do note that there won't be any combined Gen Acts cell starting this Friday all the way till the 17th or 24th. Whether we will have decentralised cell or not, we will wait till Sheryl returns back to Singapore (not smelling odd, hopefully) this coming Saturday before deciding.

It's the time of the year where all of you are taking your end of year examinations and i hope you're all busy studying for it. In the midst of mugging, don't forget to dedicate some time to do your quiet time too ya.

Put God first and you'll be greatly blessed.

Me - have been sleeping a lot, feeling very tired.

Wonderful time celebrating national day and break fast party with you girls! We have so much to be thankful for, even as God has used this 40-day fast to mould us and refine our heart attitudes towards the poor, given us breakthroughs in some issues we're struggling with and many answered prayers. Compassion for the poor/needy or foreigner worker

Sweeties, for the past 1 week,the Prayer book is talking about showing compassion for the poor or needy in SG or those pple that just staying around our neighbourhood or maybe is our FRIENDS!!!

So fast & pray for them and also pray that our heart will not be harden or find them disgusting when we meet them.

They are also human being that GOD created.So as God's children,we must show compassion for them as JC died on the cross NOT ONLY for the RICH & FAMOUS, BUT also for the poor,needy and helpless.

Why not use our talents or knowledge this coming week to help them.Example like helping frzs in their schoolwork,not dirtying the school toilet or canteen or by not staring at them like they are ALIENS invading in SG.

Luke 6:33-36 said that Do not expect reward or repayment if u DO GOOD.Then our reward will be great & we will be called the Sons of the Most High.

Luke 6:38 Give & it will be given to you,a gd measure,pressed down,shaken together & running over,will be poured into your lap.For with the measure you use,it will be measured to you.

Sound familiar?

If we give whole-hearted,dont need to think wat will we be expected to gain or take back from the person.Just give,& know that God will give the best to you.

Calling all Ruth-ians (sounds weird...)

Jackie & Anna's wedding date is getting closer and closer, and I was tasked with coming up with the invitation card. But looking at the envelope (which is in plain white with nothing on it), an apple fell on my head, i was inspired to call onto the Ruthians (really sounds funny) for help to design the envelope.. Yes.. you heard me right...design / draw / color on the plain envelope itself.

Some ideas are possibly some crayon, pastel esque colors, if you wanna feel inspired, there's this arts and crafts shop at Plaza Sing, level 2 or 3, plenty of cool ideas....

Finally, sounds like a really raw deal, but whatever you girls come out with (assuming willing to try), i have to take a look at it and it has to be synchronise with the card's theme and look, if cannot make it then will not pass ah...

There's around a mth or less to come up with something... I am sure they will be really happy if you girls could do something... So let your creativity fly !

Hey dearies,

What happened on Friday came as a surprise. Thank you so much for opening up, and to bring up an issue that I have been finding a right time to address. Let's work together towards greater unity! :)

We've indeed been so blessed at the church camp. Continue to let the fire burn!

Remember to love the unlovable...
because with a little bit of kindness, we can change the world for Jesus!

I've decided to post what we've covered during Ruth Tribe cell, as I noticed many of you didn't bring your booklets to take down notes.

Points to note...
1) Romans 5:8 "But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
Embrace God's love for us. We will then naturally want to pass it on to others.
2) John 15:12 "My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you."
And a way of loving God is to obey His commands.
3) Genesis 1:27 "So God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created Him; male and female He created them."
Everyone is created in God's image.

How can I let Jesus love these people through me?
Serve them (see John 13)
And it starts with praying for them... then look for opportunities!

Why serve them?
1) It's an action; easy way to see how we should love.
2) Serving has a way of changing the way we see people. While we continually look for ways to help them, it is hard to think that they are worthless, or hard to stay mad at them.

Remember... it's a choice. Galatians 5:13

I'm really really missing church camp! All the fun fun times during bonding. Supper. Pink tees. Amazing Grace dance. Soaking in God's presence. 24hrs of worship. We worship an AWESOME God!! Amen?

I thank God for the bonding time we had during the church camp, lets keep the relationship we have forged with one another over the past 4 days strong, don't let it die out.
